# Chovy — full content

> Describe what you want in your own words. Chovy turns it into a plan, builds it, and brings the result back for you to approve — before anything goes live.

Built for founders and small teams who have a specific app, website, customer portal, or internal tool in mind and want to stay the decision-maker without becoming the engineer.

## Chovy — Turn an idea into a real app

Source: https://chovy.com/

Describe what you want in your own words. Chovy turns it into a plan, builds it, and brings the result back for you to approve — before anything goes live.

### The app you keep describing to people, actually built.

- No technical brief needed
- You own the code and the domain
- Nothing launches without your approval

### One place where the idea, the plan, and the work all live.

Instead of juggling documents, chat threads, agencies, and tools you don't understand, there's one screen that tells you what's happening and what needs you.

- **A plan you can actually read** Your idea, written back to you as screens, decisions, and a first release. Change anything before work starts.
- **Progress you can see** Who's building what, right now, without chasing anyone for an update.
- **Something real to look at** Every piece of work comes back with a working preview you can open on your phone.
- **A developer when you want one** Invite yours, or ask ours. They arrive already knowing the whole story.

### How it works

1. **Tell us the idea** — A rough thought is enough. “A site where customers can book and pay for a session.”
2. **Read the plan** — Chovy turns it into screens and steps. You change what's wrong before anyone builds.
3. **Watch it get built** — Your team works. You see what's finished and what's still moving.
4. **Approve what ships** — Open the preview. Approve it, or say what to change.

### Four things Chovy will never do without asking you

- Publish anything to the public internet.
- Buy a domain or spend your money.
- Send marketing email to your customers.
- Give anyone access to your code you didn't invite.

### Is this for you?

Yes, if: you have a specific thing you want to exist; you can describe who it's for; you want to stay the decision-maker; you'd rather see working software than a slide deck.

Not yet, if: you want a finished business, not a product; you need it live this week; you want it built and handed over with no involvement from you.

### Questions founders ask

**Do I own what gets built?**

Yes — the code, the repository, and the domain are yours. If you stop using Chovy, all of it leaves with you.

**What if it builds the wrong thing?**

You read the plan before anyone starts, and you approve each finished piece. Asking for changes is a normal step, not a failure — the button is right next to “Approve”.

**Do I need a developer?**

No. You can invite one whenever you want, and they'll see the full history the moment they join.

**What does it cost?**

Start with a 24-hour free trial. Then choose how you pay for AI: bring your own key and pay from $20/month for the platform, or let Chovy supply the AI with credits included from $50/month and top up when you need more. Both come in tiers that set how many apps, how much bandwidth and storage, how many domains and collaborators you get; annual billing is two months free. There is also a $1,000 lifetime deal for one app, and Enterprise for dedicated capacity. Describing an app and reading its plan is free; human help is quoted first.

**Is my idea private?**

Your workspace is yours. Nobody sees it unless you invite them, and invited developers only see the projects you assign.

**Is it live once I approve it?**

No — and Chovy will never tell you it is. Approving records your decision. Publishing to a real domain is a separate, explicit step.

## How Chovy works

Five stages from a sentence to something people can use — and the five moments where the decision is yours.

### The five stages

1. **Start.** What you do: You describe it. What Chovy does: Chovy saves it as the app's first note. What you see: Your idea, written down in one place.
2. **Shape.** What you do: You read the plan and fix what's wrong. What Chovy does: Chovy turns your note into screens, a first release, and open questions. What you see: A plan in plain English, with the undecided parts marked clearly.
3. **Build.** What you do: You wait, or add a note. What Chovy does: Your team builds in a private space that's just for this app. What you see: A timeline: who's working on what, and what's finished.
4. **Review.** What you do: You open the preview and decide. What Chovy does: Chovy collects the working preview and the list of what changed. What you see: A link you can open on your phone, and two buttons.
5. **Launch.** What you do: You run four checks and type LAUNCH. What Chovy does: Chovy prepares the domain and deployment — it doesn't run them. What you see: A checklist, and a clear statement of what is and isn't live.

### The five moments we'll need you

- Approving the plan before anyone builds.
- Answering the open questions the plan couldn't decide for you.
- Reviewing each finished piece of work.
- Approving anything that costs money.
- Typing LAUNCH.

### How long this takes

Setup is about three minutes. A first plan comes back in minutes. A first working piece usually lands the same day. Getting to something you'd show a customer takes as long as it takes, and you'll see exactly where it is the whole time.

## Chovy for founders

Own the product, not the technical stress. What a first week looks like, and what stays yours.

- **“I have the idea. I don't have anyone to build it.”** Start with a note instead of a job posting. You'll have a plan today and something to look at this week — and you'll know whether the idea holds up before you hire anyone.
- **“I have a developer. I never know where anything is.”** Every note, decision, and finished piece of work lives with the app. Your developer works how they like; you stop being the person who has to remember everything.
- **“I've paid for builds before and got something I couldn't use.”** You read the plan before anyone builds, and you open a working preview before anything is approved. You're never looking at a status report instead of the thing itself.

### What a first week actually looks like

- **Day 1** You set up your workspace and describe the app. A plan comes back the same afternoon. You cut two things out of it.
- **Day 2** The first piece is built. You open the preview on your phone and ask for the booking form to be shorter.
- **Day 3–4** You add a note after a customer call. It goes into the plan instead of into your inbox.
- **Day 5** You invite a developer for the payment part. They arrive already knowing what's been decided and why.

### What stays yours

- The code and the repository.
- The domain.
- Your customer data.
- Every decision and note.
- The right to walk away with all of it.

## Chovy for developers

Join a project that already has its brief, decisions, and work history. Keep your own editor and workflow.

### What's waiting for you on day one

- The owner's original brief, in their own words
- Every note and decision since
- An isolated workspace and repository for this project
- Previous work with its git checkpoints and previews
- A preview URL you can share back

### What doesn't change

Your editor, your terminal, your branches, your commits. Chovy is where work is shown and approved, not where you have to write it.

### What you can see

Only the projects the owner assigned you. Scope is enforced on the server, not hidden in the interface.

### The technical shape of it

Each project gets an isolated git workspace on a managed host, published at its own HTTPS preview address. Work is only delivered when all three are true: a new checkpoint from the baseline commit, a non-empty changed-file list, and a reachable HTTPS preview. If any one is missing, the owner sees the failure, not a success message.

## What Chovy costs

Source: https://chovy.com/pricing

A 24-hour free trial, bring-your-own-key plans from $20/month, managed plans with AI credits from $50/month, and a $1,000 lifetime deal for one app. Nothing is charged without your approval.

- **Lifetime app: $1,000 · once.** A one-time deal for one app, hosted for life. It covers the plan, the build, the checks, the fixes, a private build space, a live address, and 25 hours of agent work. Describing an app and reading its plan is free.
- **Credit top-up: From $10 · Managed plans.** On a managed plan, when the month's included AI credits run out, top up in packs. Top-ups never expire and are used after the monthly allowance. Chat keeps working; only builds pause at zero until you top up or the cycle resets.
- **More agent time: $400 · per agent-hour.** When an app has used its included hours, further work is metered by the hour an agent is actually working, never by the hour it sits idle. You see the hours before you approve more, the same as every other cost.
- **A team of agents: $400 · per agent-hour.** For companies that want several agents running, not one app. Every agent is supervised by a person on our side and billed on the hours it is actually working, never on the hours it sits idle. Put that next to what a contractor hour costs you, then look at the clock.
- **A standing seat: $28,000 · per agent, per month.** Reserve an agent for a month with 70 hours of its time at $400 per agent-hour. Past 70 hours the same hourly rate applies.
- **A pod: $2,800 · per hour.** 7 agents and a person directing them, for an hour or for a quarter. This is the one to hold up against a contractor team: the same money, none of the hiring, and it does not stop at five o'clock. Write to us from the contact page and we'll set it up.
- **The AI that thinks: Included · or your own key.** Use the model included with your workspace and there's nothing extra to pay. If you already pay OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or another provider, connect that account and pay them directly — we never see the bill.
- **Human help: Free · or quoted first.** Inviting your own developer is free and unlimited. Asking the Profullstack team for hands-on help is scoped and quoted before any billable work starts — every time.

Structured: price 1000 USD per app, one payment, before the first build, 25 agent-hours included. Overage 400 USD per active agent-hour. Team capacity 400 USD per active agent-hour, or 28000 USD per agent per month including 70 agent-hours and the hourly rate past that, or 2800 USD per hour for a pod of 7 agents and a human director.

### Never charged without your approval

- Domains
- Hosting
- Third-party services
- Any hour of human work
