Trial and Tribulations with Nicotine

17 Jan

It’s been about 2 weeks since I’ve decided to quit smoking; however, I suffered a minor setback this week and smoked a 1.5 packs. I fell off the wagon. Unfortunately, I’ll have to start from square one again today, 1/17/05.

Got off with a good start and did 2.06 miles on my elliptical trainer doing 50 minutes straight without stopping. The last 30 minutes were easy. It’s the first 20 that are hard. Hint: watch a movie while exercising, the time flies by!

I’m glad you are trying again after falling off the wagon. I too quit smoking on 1/1/05 after almost 20 years. I’ve had 1 cigarette in the past 2 weeks, nearly 3. So hang in there and don’t give up!

I’m always giving up and failing. But I keep trying and will eventually succeed! Read Allen Carrs book ‘The Easy Way to Stop Smoking’. It’s very useful.

The guy recommending the book must not have read it since he says he failed so many times!
I got your blogsite from “Unofficialnicanon” when you posted there. I am Nicanot8300, and I sent you a reply to your post. Hope things are doing well — why are you trying to stop smoking?

I tried many times before I got into this program, and now I have been stopped for over 4 1/2 years. I’ll see if my “stats” come across here.

(Arthur – Free and Healing for Four Years, Five Months, Twenty Eight Days, 5 Hours and 49 Minutes, while extending my life expectancy 341 Days and 22 Hours, by avoiding the use of 98475 nicotine delivery devices that would have cost me $14,496.01.)

    Yep, they made it!
Keep at it kiddo! Best wishes. Arthur

Haa…I’ll have to tell Sam that (he’s a member on two of my forums).

God damn you smoked a lot didn’t you? :-D

4.5 years of not smoking, and you’ve already saved almost a year of your life? That’s crazy!!
