I came down with some nasty stomach illness, I think it might have been food poisoning from “Lou’s Cafe in Los Gatos” - uggh…I knew I didn’t eat there for a reason. After Sunday’s Beglian waffle at Lou’s, it reminded me why. I think their butter was rancid, and the waffle tasted like an eggo waffle. For better breakfast dining in Los Gatos, try “Southern Kitchen” on Main Street (across from the Ferrari dealer), or Gilley’s Cafe on North Santa Cruz Avenue. Both places are good, and reaonsably priced. Southern Kitchen being my favorite of the two. There’s another trendy one at N. Santa Cruz and Highway 9 called “Los Gatos Cafe”. But there’s always a line, mostly the young hip crowd of bar goers from the night before. I typically try to stay away from these places.

I’ve decided to try being a vegetarian in an effort to loose some weight (have you ever seen a fat vegetarian?), so far day 1, and I’ve had 1 vegetarian burrito. I honestly don’t know how long this will last. I give myself 5 days before I eat meat.

Now the question remains, should I be what I call a “healthy vegetarian” or a “political vegetarian”? The latter being those hardcore people who don’t eat anything produced by animals, because of how factory farms are exploiting the animals. I made my first political decision with regards to a meal. I refused to eat my mom’s Veal she prepared, which is “baby cow”. There is a limit as to what I’ll eat - at least let the little fella have a life before you butcher him for food. She came back with “well then don’t eat eggs either”. I said, “well, those aren’t fertilized eggs, so there’s no chance of a baby being born”. Now she thinks I’m some right-winger reglious nut who believes in pro-life and is anti-abortion. I’m talking about animals here though, who can’t speak up/defend themselves. As for humans, you want an abortion? fine by me, just don’t wait ’till the last minute.
