I like their feature list and price, especially the shell and error-log access. But I'm concerned that they might oversell their servers and as a result have slow reponse for hosted sites. I'm about to build a new site and am considering dreamhost. I currently use a host called sectorlink. They have excellent service and you can call them any time and talk to someone if you need to. My only complaint about sectorlink is that they do not offer shell or error log access, but neither do MOST hosting companies. I believe it's a slow bottleneck between the web server and the database server. Probably wouldn't be noticable typically. I would say dreamhost is great if you’re starting out.
