Well, it’s been a few days since I last posted to my blog. Somehow when I clicked “publish” from the Blogger.com interface, it just timed out after about 10 minutes. Without ever posting.
So I dug a little deeper, it was frustrating because I could connect via ftp from my local machine, but Blogger couldn’t - and I didn’t get any kind of informative error, other than “timed out”.
So I figured it was some kind of security app on my hosting provider which had seen several ftp connections from different ips (blogger’s server farm) to my two blog ftp accounts on my server.
I contacted the support guys at Neureal (my excellent Linux hosting provider), and told them what I thought was happening, sure enough they got back to me and said the Blogger ip numbers had been denied access. They fixed it, and now I can post again!
