Ok, so if you haven’t already come to the conclusion that FireFox is the best browser, here’s another reason to switch from that security hole riddled flimsly-ass Internet Explorer that you’ve been using:

The AdBlocker extension for FireFox!

This little tool allows you to use wildcards and regular expressions to blockout ad servers, including both images and flash ads. It only took me 5 minutes on morningstar.com to wipe out 90% of the ads I see on all sites I’ve visited so far.

After installing FireFox, and installing AdBlock from the url above, you simply right-click on the ads, and select “Adblock Image”, which popups the url, which you can ad a wildcard to “*”…for example “http://*adclick.net*” would block out ALL the ads served by those scumbags. For flash ads, there will be a little “AdBlock” link at the bottom of every flash movie.

Enjoy!

Just a shame it seems like its not being developed on anymore, so we could get a version that don’t download the ads at all. That way we would surf alot faster and save bandwith..
