What’s the most portable language?

Sun, November 27, 2005 — Category: Open Source

java?
python?
c/c++?
After seeing tux paint, I’m thinking “C”.
In other words, if you were gonna write a bitorrent client, what language would you do it in?
The problem with a web-based solution is that it’s centralized (see history:napster).
Java I don’t like because it’s not GNU Free. Only “free as in beer” free.

C without a doubt. Try writing embeded code for a microcontroller using Java or Python…

Although a Perl programmer myself, I’m beginning to find something quite beautiful and pure about C.
