I have bad credit, so I got a secured credit card or whatever they call it, basically, I sent them $1000, and they sent me a CC with a supposed $1,000 credit limit. I work as a fishing guide up north, so I am not always around to deal with mail but I don't leave bills piling up either, I like it all dealt with. Anyways before I went up north I bought some shoes and some groceries on my card, I figured that C1 had $1000 of my money - this $160 could just wait 3 months to get paid when I got back from up north. It turns out that this "no hassles" company was calling my parent's daily, as I use my parents address as I'm always moving around. I called them as soon as I found out and instructed them to NEVER phone again, that they had my money, I didn't have any of their money, so stop the harrassment. They sent me a cheque for $840 and closed my account. WTF? I just wanted a CC because they are needed sometimes for hotels/car rentals, etc. Capitol One was horrible to deal with, I wasn't a good customer because they had no way to rip me off!

I've used ClearCase, TeamSite, CVS, RCS, Subversion and Git -- I like subversion, but Git makes branch management a whole lot easier. TeamSite is cool too.

Very good journal, thanks for building it. I was struck by one of these ripoffs also, I uploaded my report at Craigslist Scam

Clearcase is superior to CVS
Clearcase is like a stable high end easy to drive luxury car.
CVS just isn't.

The project I work with has used CC for the the last 10 years and the so-called full time admin takes about two minutes every few months to prepare the next release environment including config specs, views, branches, et all. And he spends less than a day a year in managing the application, storage, etc.
I've done thousands of automatic/manual merges, file additions/removal, and most other aspects of using CC all without error.

That's disappointing it hasn't improved with 8x8 since I had them (5 years ago).
I have long since gone to a land-line with AT&T bundle (phone, isp, tv).

Came accross this post & i just had to put share also -> I am a former sun rocket customer for my personal use. And had the 8x8 home service after the imposion - it was horible like the above mentions. So i went back to land line (only $20/mo & it's land line). No biggie. Not really bitter. But the company i work was reviewing a move to packet 8 for the phone system. I cornered a few managers and told them what my residnetial was like... so needless to say that managment (with it's infinite wisdom) ordered 8x8 anyways. And there have been issues over since. And for some reason every 5th call to our main line rings to a DR's offfice in florda... WE ARN"T EVEN IN FLORIDA!!! That dri's office keeps threatining to sue, but it's packet 8 not us... anyways. I cannot say enough bad things about 8x8 and we are stuck for 9 more months. Stay away, anything but them, the worst experience you can imagin times 2!

Oh boy I hate calling places that I know are in India! I ask for the supervisor asap who denies he is off shore. I lost my job asked to refinance or lower the intrest or is their some program for hardship. I was told no a huge company like Capital wouldn't budge! And the super said I could get the new 4% by going done and buying a new car. I think sometimes when we outsource the workers enjoy hearing the wooo's of Americans.
